Purpose of the role

Bring out the best in every colleague by providing lively, on-point HR support to leaders when they need it most. Team up to bring the People Team’s exciting strategy to life. Be the go-to person for building a positive, people-first culture, creating strong connections with leaders and colleagues through expert guidance on employee relations and recruitment. Show up as an enthusiastic and active member of the People Team, making a real difference to the colleague experience.

What you’ll be doing

First Line of Support: Offer top-notch advice to leaders and colleagues while teaming up with the People Manager for those tricky situations.

Employee Relations Guru: Assist the People Manager in handling employee relations cases like a pro.

Payroll Wizard: Take the reins on weekly payroll processes, ensuring everything runs like clockwork – hours, absences, pay adjustments – all handled with ease.

HR System Champion: Keep colleague info up-to-date in the Time & Attendance/HR System, driving automation and paperless processes wherever possible.

Recruitment Rockstar: Lead the charge on weekly paid recruitment and onboarding – from screening candidates and scheduling interviews to making offers and delivering site inductions!

File Keeper Extraordinaire: Maintain electronic personal files with precision, ensuring everything’s GDPR-friendly, legal and audit-ready!

Master of HR Admin: Keep the gears turning by processing starters, leavers, and colleague updates – always on time, of course!

HR Training Pro: Collaborate with the People and Training Managers to deliver essential HR training – Time & Attendance systems, internal processes, policies, and more!

KPI Captain: Keep those KPI sheets up-to-date and ensure they’re communicated with style and clarity!

Colleague Champion Committee Legend: Actively contribute to the committee by taking notes, communicating decisions, and following through on actions like a boss.

Change Leader: Break the mould! Bring fresh ideas, lead change projects, and motivate yourself and others to challenge the status quo.

What you’ll have

Are you ready to bring your HR expertise to a vibrant team? Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • You’re rocking a CIPD Level 5 qualification – that’s a must!
  • You’ve got at least 3 years of hands-on experience in a fast-paced HR team.
  • If you’ve worked in manufacturing or food production and know your way around SEDEX, you’re golden.
  • Audit pro? Experience with BRC, Ethical Audits, or Agency Labour Practices would be music to our ears.
  • You’re a whiz at UK employment law, employee relations, compensation, and benefits.
  • Bonus points if you know your way around T&A and HR Systems – if you’re a Advanced (Mitrefinch) master, even better!
  • Data-driven with a sharp eye for detail, you know how to plan and shape the HR agenda.
  • Multitasking? You handle it like a pro, staying organised and confident while juggling multiple priorities.
