Our Teams
NPD (NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT)
The product development team are responsible for creating new recipe ideas for our customers. The inspiration for these might come from market research, an emerging trend, a new ingredient, the work we do with our award-winning chef or from a customer brief.
They work on taking the product from the idea stage to creating a commercially viable product to present to the customer and then on to working with the manufacturing and procurement teams to bring it in to production in the factory.
The team get a real sense of pride from everything they do.
Louise Sandall
Development Manager
I have been working at Fenmarc for six years, but have been in the food industry for fifteen years.
My job as a Development Manager involves working with our customers to develop new products.

SUPPLY CHAIN
The supply chain & planning team look after our long-term capacity planning, getting raw materials to the factory, plan how they’re produced and then get them to our customers.
The planning team works with the commercial and manufacturing teams to plan ahead and ensure that we always achieve our customer’s requirements and plan the factory accordingly. They’re responsible for planning our key times of the year such as product launches and Christmas.
Working closely with the procurement team they order raw material from our suppliers and organise the logistics of getting raw materials to our factory on a daily basis.
They work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure that they plan the daily production in the most efficient way possible and ensure that we always make our deliveries on time.

ENGINEERING TEAM
The engineering team are responsible for ensuring all of the equipment on site works as efficiently and reliably as possible, as well as developing enhancements for current processes and working on the installation of new equipment.
Being an engineer is a varied role, it’s a combination of technical knowledge and practical experience to problem-solve and work on challenges on a daily basis. Our team members have years of knowledge and experience on a wide range of equipment across the industry and a blend of mechanical, electrical/electronic skills which allows us to share and develop knowledge across the whole team.
The team cover 24 hours a day every day apart from Christmas Day.
We run an apprenticeship scheme in conjunction with The College of West Anglia, we’ll be taking on new apprentices in September 2020.
Nigel Bryant
Engineering Manager

HR (HUMAN RESOURCES)
The HR team are responsible for everything to do with our people – our most important asset.
They look after a wide range of subjects – recruitment of new colleagues, making sure colleagues get paid every week, training and development of our team members, working on our benefits and wellbeing offer and all the administration that goes with this.
They work with all teams across the business aiming to make it a great place to work.
Shona Hamilton
HR Manager
I joined Fenmarc in March 2019 and as HR Manager I cover everything that involves people management.
Fenmarc is such an exciting place to be. We are forward thinking, we embrace change and we are continuously looking to improve our standards of working to be the best we can possibly be.

FINANCE TEAM
The finance team have a wide range of responsibilities – managing payments (paying our suppliers and colleagues and ensuring we get paid by our customers), financial reporting and insight, product costings.
They work closely with the HR team to ensure that we pay our production colleagues accurately each week, with the NPD and commercial teams on product costings to ensure the commercial viability of products, and with the manufacturing and engineering team on capital projects.
They are always looking for ways to improve ways of working to ensure they’re providing the other teams with what they need and adding value.
Sam Ruck
Financial Controller
My role as Financial Controller leads me to work closely and build relationships with colleagues around the entire business to help drive financial performance.
Although I’m relatively new to Fenmarc, I have been in the fresh produce industry for over 10 years. The team at Fenmarc work collaboratively and passionately for the good of Fenmarc, creating an environment that facilitates continuous improvement.

COMMERCIAL TEAM
The commercial team is the customer facing part of the business. They manage our relationship with our retail customers and deal with everything from working on the development of new products, sharing market data and insights, negotiating contracts, working on promotional opportunities.
They work with many teams across the business – with finance on product costings, with procurement on future volumes to ensure continuity of supply, with NPD on new product opportunities, with planning and manufacturing on future volumes and opportunities to ensure we have the capability and capacity and with technical to ensure we’re supplying our customers with products of the right specification.
Matt Walton
Director
I have been with Fenmarc for nearly 10 years starting on the company graduate scheme and I am now a Director.

MANUFACTURING
The manufacturing team is responsible for turning the recipes developed by NPD and the raw materials delivered by the procurement team in to real products in the factory.
Once the raw material arrives on site the manufacturing team start their job. The team prepare, wash, mix and pack the products and get them ready to deliver to our customers.
The factory is highly automated but still requires production colleagues to work in many areas – this is our biggest team in the business and we’re proud of the diverse workforce that we have. We need our production colleagues to be flexible and adaptable and have an eye for detail to ensure we produce the best quality products every time.
Our shift managers are responsible for leading these teams on a daily basis ensuring they have the right skills on shift, making sure we have a safe place to work, delivering the plan and constantly working on making improvements to the way we work.
Lukasz Miszczyk
Manufacturing Assistant
I have been with the company for nearly 10 years. Starting as a High Care coordinator within the Fenmarc Development program I was promoted to Team Leader position and since September 2019 I am working as Manufacturing Assistant.
With Fenmarc what I like the most is that every day brings different challenges which makes my job very interesting and I can learn new things nearly every day. Working with a great team at Fenmarc gives me a lot of energy and keeps me motivated.

TECHNICAL
The technical team are responsible for ensuring that all the products we produce are safe, legal and of the right quality to meet our customer’s expectations.
They work closely with the commercial team and our customer’s on developing packaging, artwork and specifications for all the products that we supply. They have a close relationship with the procurement team to ensure that all of our suppliers meet the factory, ethical and growing standards that we require for our customers. They work together with our manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure that our factory and products meet our high standards on a daily basis.
They’re also responsible for managing our hygiene team who clean the factory from top to bottom every night.
Tim Johnson
Head of Technical
One of my great passions is plants, with all of my academic and professional career spent in the horticulture and food production sector.
I’m lucky that my role at Fenmarc allows me to follow this passion; working with growers, producing high quality fresh prepared products and collaborating with customers.
I’m motivated by the dynamic, collaborative culture at Fenmarc and enjoy working across the business, facilitating continuous improvement of our standards and processes.

PROCUREMENT
The procurement team are responsible for everything that we buy from everyday items like stationery and electricity to our biggest spends on raw material, packaging and transport.
They work closely with the commercial team to understand what we’re likely to be selling in the future so that they can agree volumes and prices with our growers and suppliers to ensure we have the right quantity of the right quality products every day.
They also work closely with the technical team to ensure that all of our suppliers meet the strict food safety, quality and ethical standards that we demand.
They are heavily involved in the development of new products – from sourcing new raw materials to exploring new packaging options.
Every season is different in Fresh Produce and the roles are exciting and challenging.
Craig Coxhead
Head of Commercial
My role is split across Sales & Procurement enabling me to build relationships across our supply chain. My role acts as a key line between our Growers – Fenmarc – and our Retail Customers.
I love being involved in our fantastic products from field to fork and enjoy playing my part in delivering great quality products to our customers.

IT
The IT team look after all of our information and communications systems.
Everything we do in the business relies on some kind of IT system, their role is to ensure that everything works seamlessly all the time.
They look after everything from our mobile phones and email to ensuring that we receive our customer orders every day to ensuring the security of our data and systems.
